Gregg, I imagine
this note will find you in Germany...I may leave you a cell phone message, I'm
not sure it will be the best way to communicate....so I wanted to let you know
what you started -tee hee. Steve went to see about that horse you mentioned and
bought her on the spot. He did
not talk them down he said he felt like he was buying their
dream and did not have the heart to talk them down...His mother only laughed
when he told her and said he always had the bug - but was in denial. Someday
I'll tell you the whole story, but it is safe to say Steve's childhood
experiences with horses are linked to poverty and shame - and people getting in
over their head....But honestly - I think we will be alright. We have the
fields, the hay, the contacts.... what I am most nervous about is that you are
not here to help us. I think Steve bought her for me - I said you knew 'Cremello'
coloring was my favorite -although she is 'white' mostly - Noelles favorite
too. Steve has always felt that Princess should not be alone. I felt my heart
pang for her when we were out west and there were miles after miles of horse
farms and horses were always standing together - head to tail, swatting flies,
or just next to one another - and I would think of her all by herself. Alec now
says he'd like to learn so he can ride with Maggie. I think I will need to
training too. I think we are bringing the little filly home next week, a
friend of Steve's mom's is going to transport her...Maggie is thrilled. So, God
Bless You and I hope all goes well with your surgery. If we can help, please
let us know. We are busy but not so much that if you give us a job to do - I
promise it will get done. Just tell us what would help. Okay, so now we are
owners of a beautiful Morgan and a Paint. Hard to believe, but exciting. Thanks
again Greg, We'll talk soon, Love, Mary
