To Gregg &
Others that are interested in his escapades in Tucson:
I will never
forget my first conversation with Gregg. I too have a black and white
paint, I brought my horses with me from New York, and I would like to learn
about Cowboy Mounted Shooting. Now how could you not like a guy like that!!
The very next
weekend Gregg & Troubles (Gregg’s Horse) were introduced to my group of
mounted shooting buddies. Troubles wasn't amused much by this new sport
but Gregg was enthusiastic. Now you must know I don't let many others ride
my horses but it was very obvious he was an accomplished horseman. He took
my competition horse and off he went. That was it! We had him
hooked!
By the next
weekend practice Tex was showing potential as a shooting horse. My friends
and I were amazed that Tex only had a dozen rides at that time. By the end
of the day Gregg’s equine expertise was apparent, and all were benefited by
the conversations, tips and hints that he graciously shared. The next week
Gregg invited me to ride with him while he did some training one afternoon.
I eagerly accepted and brought one of my younger shooting horses. I
witnessed first hand Gregg's combination of ability, compassion, and horse sense
all at work. He helped me with some trailer issues and I learned some
priceless tips on young horses. Watching Gregg work with horses I would
like to say I witnessed someone who has a true gift in his abilities to interact
and train. Before we knew it Gregg’s stay in Tucson came to an end, he
was on the road again.
I would recommend
not passing up an opportunity to work with Gregg, he is an amazing horseman.
From all of us
in Tucson, thanks for becoming a good friend and we miss you.
